Work/School Physicals

Work/School Physicals

physical examination

One of our providers will undertake a physical exam for work or school purposes during which they will assess your general health and look for any signs of an illness or chronic disease that would prevent you from carrying out your obligations under the job or academic program. The recommended tests will vary depending on the kind of physical examination performed, says your doctor. If applicable, you will go over your employment history and medical history with your provider. In general, your provider will look at:

  • Vital signs – such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.

  • Your heart – to look for signs of cardiovascular disease.

  • Your lungs – to check for any wheezing or difficulty breathing.

  • Your abdomen – assesses the condition of your liver, bowels, and other organs.

  • Your skin – skin conditions can be symptoms of underlying illnesses.
